Touching People’s Lives Through Books

Jacob Raymer was an adventurous spirit who enjoyed being outside as much as possible. He loved hiking, longboarding, skimboarding, and the thrill of sky diving. Jacob was such an avid reader. He read all genres. He believed there was an opportunity for knowledge and adventure in every book. Jacob always said his dream was to put as many books into people’s hands as he could.

Jacob loved making people smile. Like ALL the time! This page and the acts of kindness it represents is us giving back to keep his memory alive. We have built a sharing library in his memory so that all people can enjoy reading. Please pay it forward so all can know joy and the love of Jacob.

Please share how you’ve been affected through #readforjacob, Jacob’s Free Library, enjoyed his Memorial bench, or received a random act of kindness?

Thank you to #readforjacob for being the Light of Jesus by Donating a gift card for someone that needed it. Me and my daughter were $10 short today. I told my daughter that we only had $30 with us and she would have to put something back. After all she didn't have to, the gentleman pulled the gift card out and said that someone wanted to give someone a blessing. I love The Happy Book Stack , the go to place for used books. Great prices for everything. God Bless.

Comments from others:

A very kind woman just purchased a gift card in Jacob's memory. We will be sure to pass this kindness onto a needy family. Praying for Jacob's family and thankful that he lived a life that is still touching others.

The quote left on his memorial bench was inspiring, and gave me the courage to push into uncharted territory.

I am a pastor recently leaving service of a marginal faith community. I pass by this bench several times a week as I seek the Sacred through the Natural, being reminded that everyone everywhere, everything everywhere, is created with a Divine Spark, created to shine bright. RDB, Nashville, TN

I’m currently sitting at a bench in long hunter state park dedicated to Jacob. It’s peaceful, nature is alive around me, and I’m grateful that Jacob’s bench is here to support this moment.

I enjoyed his memorial bench at the park! Thank you for sharing about Jacob’s life and passion with the community! He inspires me to read more! I’m an adult back in college trying to get my degree. God bless you and your family with His comfort and love.💕

We enjoyed a great walk around the lake trail and a little relaxing on Jacob's bench. It's in the perfect spot! 📚 Greg & Susan

Sitting on his bench enjoying nature.

My son was in the ICU at Vanderbilt Children’s hospital over the holidays. We received a Christmas book from the hospital and saw inside that it came from Jacob. He loves the book. Thank you ❤️

My child was in the NICU; he was born on 11/28 in Nashville, TN and in the NICU for 16 days. Today 12/14/23 they gave us this ABC of KINDNESS at Christmas book for him from your family. Thank you.
